Saffron, the world’s most expensive spice, is the dried stigmata of the Crocus Sativus flower. Nature is very generous in Greece and ‘Greek Red Saffron’ is very rich in crocin; its source of colouring capacity, picrocorin; its source of bitter flavour, and the essential oil saffranal, which gives saffron its characteristic aroma.


Saffron is one of the most rare and therapeutic plants, which has been cultivated for 300 years exclusively in Kozani. Greek Red Saffron has a PDO status and as provided by the Cooperative of Saffron is of extremely high quality.
