Description

Lavender or Lavandula Angustifolia (formerly called Lavandula Officinalis) is an aromatic flowering shrub-like plant, with green or grey leaves covered in fine hairs and small blue, or in some cases purple or lilac flowers with an intense aroma. Lavender is widely used in aromatherapy but it has some widely known medicinal uses. Lavender infusions are believed to clear the respiratory system, soothe against cough and headaches and relax at bedtime. The leaves can be made into a tea, which can additionally be used as a mouth wash which is known to strengthen the gums. Also, the flowers are widely used to add a nice scent to a wardrobe.
