Isle of Olive has searched long and hard in order to find an olive oil that is so true to tradition that it is even pressed using the “old” method of a millstone. We are delighted to have found it in the Biolea organic extra virgin olive oil from the Astrikas Estate in Kolymvari, Chania. A family run company with an olive grove located in a beautiful setting and a long history in the production of exceptional olive oil using the most traditional methods. You cannot go more natural than this. Olive oil produced with millstones and presses retains maximum nutritive benefits. The Biolea olive oil exhibits a strong herbaceous character of grassy apples and lettuce leaves, which follow through to a complex flavour of mixed salad greens. This is accompanied by light bitterness and a good burst of pepper. Herby sorrel tones return on the long aftertaste.
