With over 200 unique grape varieties and a history of wine production that goes back to Homeric times, Greece is currently experiencing a Renaissance in its wine culture. During the event we showcased 9 Greek wines made with some widely popular and some less known indigenous grape varieties such as Roditis, Aghiorgitiko, Moschofilero, Assyrtiko, Black Kalavrytino, Xinomavro, Mandilaria, Monemvasia and Muscat Petit Grain, originating from some of the most famous wine producing regions in Greece; Peloponnese, Santorini, Naoussa, Paros, Samos.
Our expert sommelier guided attendees through the intricacies of Greek wine and created tasteful matches between the wines and cheeses, also carefully sourced from all over Greece. Attendees were able to ask questions, get those last minute Christmas presents for their friends and family and of course there was a special focus on the wines with a more festive wintery character that would go well with the Christmas dinners!
