  • Olive Oil and Olives

Olive oil forms the basis of the Mediterranean diet and is also at the heart of our deli shop. At Isle of Olive we pride ourselves in being able to offer you a unique selection of olive oils from two regions in Greece that are renowned worldwide for the superior quality of the olive oil produced, Crete and the Peloponnese. Our range includes both organic and non-organic in a wide palette of flavors to suit every taste, so come to our stall to sample them and find the one that suits you. Of course Isle of Olive would not be worth its name without olives! So it's only natural that we offer a carefully sourced selection of black, Kalamata and green olives, always fresh and perfect for your salads and cooking or simply as a snack. And to top all this off, Isle of Olive has discovered and made available some unique olive based delicacies, like its Kalamata olive paste and the olive and lemon marmalade from Fthiotida!

  • Herbs and Spices

Greece's Mediterranean climate along with its wild and mountainous landscape give rise to a flora of unique variety and richness. Anyone that has taken a summer walk along a forest or on a rocky island will be familiar with the overpowering smell of herbs. Thyme, oregano, sage, rosemary, chamomile and mountain tea are available in abundance in most areas and as a result are used extensively in the Greek cuisine. At Isle of Olive we are dedicated to bringing some of these wonderful fragrances here in the UK and as a result we have a selection of wild herbs and spices, hand picked and left to dry naturally away from the sun. We also have natural unrefined sea salt, which is harvested by hand from the rocky shores of Crete. This salt retains all the minerals that are normally removed from processed table salt, which gives it a rich taste that makes every meal come alive!

  • Greek Honey

Honey is rooted so deep in Greek tradition that it is no coincidence it has been considered as the food of the Gods of Olympus. Beekeeping is an ancient practice dating back to 900 BC and there is numerous evidence supporting the fact that apiculture was highly developed in classical Greece. This tradition has been continued up to our days and Greek honey is currently enjoying the status of one of the best in the world due to its exceptional clarity, colour, texture and taste. These are the blueprints of the unique characteristics of the Hellenic flora, abundant in nectar sources such as herbs, flowers and trees. More importantly though it is the loving labour of Greece's beekeepers that contributes to this highest quality. Isle of Olive works directly with some excellent beekeepers from the areas of Preveza and Crete and is proud to offer their honey to the UK public.

  • Other products

At Isle Of Olive one important aspect of our work is to carefully look for and discover new, quality products that modern Greece has to offer. Our range is continuously expanding and on top of our core products of olive oil, honey and herbs, we have a selection of other items that we consider make your Mediterranean experience complete! Therefore, at our market stall you can also find fresh and tasty bakery products created by some of the top artisans in the field. Come and try out our biscuits (koulourakia) that as a custom accompany a nice Greek coffee under the sun. Or why not try making a quick and tasty meal using our traditional rusks (ntakos) made of barley or wheat. All you will need is some fresh tomato, feta cheese and some excellent olive oil from our shop. And if things get a little bit too messy, you can always use our popular olive oil soap to clean things up :-)
